The Stainless Steel Pig Feeding Trough with Side Bars is a fixed feeding pan reinforced with side bars that protect the trough from the pressure of the animals. Technical Specifications

The trough is manufactured from 304 stainless steel with a body thickness of 1.2 mm. The pan is 900 mm long, 480 mm wide and 220 mm deep, with a capacity of approximately 30 litres of dry feed. The two side bars are made of 8 mm stainless round bar, running the full length of the pan on both sides, and they are welded to the body at the front and back. The mounting kit includes two stainless brackets, four M10 bolts and washers, and the brackets fit panels up to 40 mm thick. The complete unit weighs about 22 kg. The pan edges are rounded for the safety of the animals, and the surface is brushed and passivated. Optional versions include a longer pan of 1100 mm and a model with a galvanised finish for outdoor use. Every unit is checked for dimensions, weld quality and the fit of the mounting parts before packing, and it arrives with the complete kit and an installation diagram.

Manufacturing & Quality

The trough is produced in our factory with a strict quality routine. The stainless sheet is laser cut and formed on a press brake, and the pan is welded with TIG welding to give a strong, leak-proof body. The side bars are welded to the pan with firm joints, and every weld is ground smooth and passivated. Each trough is inspected for dimensions, surface finish, weld strength and the alignment of the side bars, and a sample from every batch is tested for the strength of the unit under load. Because the side bars are welded into the body, they cannot come loose or be displaced by the animals, and the one-piece construction has no parts that can fail. The stainless surface is smooth and non-porous, so it is easy to keep clean, and the unit is exported in a reinforced carton with the mounting kit and instruction sheet, ready to install.

Applications

This trough is used in grower and finisher pens, dry sow group housing, boar pens and hospital pens, where a strong, fixed feeding point is required. The side bars protect the trough from the pressure of large animals and keep it firmly in position, which is especially valuable in boar pens and in pens with a high stocking density.
